Position:  Children's Services Librarian

Compensation:   $18 Hourly (30 hours/week) plus benefits (employer paid single health insurance, IPERS, HSA, vacation, sick time)

Job Type: Full time

Reports to: Director

Purpose:  Provides all aspects of library service to youth ages birth to 16 by offering programs and readers advisory service.  S/he develops the overall Children's Services.

Duties:

     Collection: Offer a variety of programs for children and youth.

     Schools: Cooperate with local schools to promote children's education.

     Community Relations:  Keep the community informed of library events.

     Other: Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.

     Continuing Education:  Maintain skills and knowledge necessary for role by attending training sessions.

Education/Experience:

     Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

     Experience in working directly with youth.

     Experience in relating positively with others in a work environment.
